About Girl Power Workshops

Girl Power Workshops is an Australian based organisation making a global impact. Joni Combe established Girl Power after recognising the drop in confidence that many young girls experience once they reach the age of 8 or 9 yrs. With a background in education, creative arts & positive psychology, Joni set out to help pre-teen girls develop higher levels of confidence & self-esteem BEFORE they reach their teens and are exposed to the powerful world of social media. By combining evidence-based content with creative and engaging teaching strategies, Joni has created a unique and powerful program to help young girls thrive.

How It Works

Why Girls?

Why are girls experiencing higher levels of anxiety than ever before? And how can you help? In this first module we will address these important questions and explain how our workshop content can help increase overall well-being and happiness in young girls.

Positive Psychology

Our workshops are based on the principles of Positive Psychology and this module will introduce you to some of the key concepts and leaders in the field. Studies show that those who practice positive psychology enjoy higher levels of self-esteem, improved relationships and have a more positive mindset.

Workshop Structure

In Module 3 you will learn how to structure a girls' well-being workshop that is not only educational and empowering but also creative and FUN! You'll have access to our planning template, activities and resources, giving you the tools to create powerful and successful workshop plans.

The SHINE Workshop

in Module 4, you'll feel like a 'fly on the wall' as you watch a SHINE workshop in action. This will give you a deeper understanding of the topics and activities in our workshops and how to deliver the content effectively.

Teaching Essentials

In this module, you will learn practical strategies to help you shine as a teacher. We will cover organisation, behaviour management, professionalism, safety and powerful tips to maintain student engagement.

Business Stuff

In this final module you'll learn valuable tips around branding, budgeting, customer service, marketing and more. You'll finish the course with all the tools you need to run engaging and profitable workshops for girls in your community.
